The "Agency AI:" Customer Segments in Your Shopify Admin
Quick answer
Agency AI adds 11 customer segments to your store. You'll find them in Shopify admin > Customers > Segments, all named "Agency AI: ...". They're built only from your own Shopify customer data.
They're safe to leave as they are. Deleting one doesn't affect your ads.
The 11 segments
- Agency AI: All Purchasers: everyone who has placed at least one order.
- Agency AI: Recent Purchasers 30d: customers whose last order was in the past 30 days.
- Agency AI: Dormant 365d+: customers whose last order was more than 365 days ago.
- Agency AI: Abandoned Checkout 21d: customers who abandoned a checkout in the past 21 days and haven't ordered in that time.
- Agency AI: Subscribed Non-Buyers: people subscribed to your email or SMS marketing who haven't bought yet.
- Agency AI: One-Time Buyers 60-180d: customers with exactly one order, placed 60 to 180 days ago.
- Agency AI: At Risk: customers Shopify groups as At risk or Previously loyal.
- Agency AI: Repeat Buyers: customers with 2 or more orders.
- Agency AI: VIP: customers Shopify groups as Champions or Loyal.
- Agency AI: Predicted High Spenders: customers in Shopify's high predicted spend tier.
- Agency AI: New Customers 30d: customers whose first order was in the past 30 days.
At Risk and VIP use Shopify's own customer groups, which are based on how recently, how often and how much people buy. Predicted High Spenders uses Shopify's spend prediction.
Why some are empty
Shopify calculates each segment and keeps it up to date. On a small or new store, At Risk, VIP and Predicted High Spenders can be empty until there's enough order history.
When they appear
Agency AI creates them after you install. If your store doesn't have them yet, a daily check adds them.
Can I edit or delete them?
Yes. Deleting one doesn't affect your ads, and Agency AI won't create it again. If you edit one, Agency AI won't overwrite your changes. Leaving them alone is fine too: a segment is a saved customer filter and doesn't change anything in your store.
Using them
Use them anywhere Shopify accepts customer segments. For example, send a Shopify Email campaign to Agency AI: Repeat Buyers.
They don't appear in Create Ad's audience picker, and your AI Strategist can't read them.
