Meta restricted your account during setup (Account Integrity, Ad Account Linking Disabled): what to do

Quick answer

These restrictions come from Meta's automated review, usually within hours of creating a new Business Portfolio or ad account. They are not caused by Agency AI and we can't lift them. Go to Account Quality, request a review, complete the ID or phone verification, and stop making changes to the portfolio until Meta answers. Once reinstated, reconnect Agency AI. If the review eats into your trial, email us and we'll extend it.

The restrictions you may see

Account Integrity restriction on a new portfolio. Meta flags brand-new Business Portfolios, especially ones created and immediately populated with an ad account, Page and pixel in one sitting. Reinstatement usually follows a phone number and government ID check.

"Ad Account Linking Disabled." The portfolio can't create or claim ad accounts. Appears when a new portfolio tries to add its first ad account, or right after a reinstatement. It clears on review; it isn't something you can toggle.

Ad account disabled. The ad account itself is off. Ads stop and the account can't be granted to Agency AI. The reason is shown in Account Quality.

Advertising access restricted on your personal profile. Your Facebook profile can't run ads on any account. This blocks authorization because Meta only lets you grant assets you can advertise with.

What to do

  1. Open facebook.com/accountquality with the profile that administers the portfolio.
  2. Select the restricted item (portfolio, ad account, or your profile) and click Request review.
  3. Complete any verification Meta asks for. Phone and ID checks are typical. Use a real ID that matches the profile name.
  4. Stop changing things. Don't create more ad accounts, Pages, portfolios or pixels while a review is open. Repeated changes during review are a common reason a second restriction lands right after the first is lifted.
  5. Wait. Most reviews close in 1 to 3 days. Some take longer with no way to speed them up.
  6. When Account Quality shows the item as active again, go to Agency AI → Settings → Meta account, disconnect, and reconnect.

Reduce the odds next time

  • Use an established Business Portfolio where you can, rather than a brand-new one.
  • If you must create a new portfolio (for example a second brand, see Running a second brand on Meta), create it, verify the business, and let it sit a day or two before adding an ad account.
  • Keep the business country, ad account currency and payment method consistent. Mismatches trigger reviews.
  • Add a second admin to the portfolio so a restriction on one profile doesn't lock everyone out.
