Currencies in Agency AI: Shopify, Meta, Google and your dashboard

Quick answer

Two different rules apply on the same screen. Reporting is converted: Shopify revenue, Meta spend and Google spend are all converted into the brand currency you pick on Brand Info, so stats, ROAS and MER are correct. Budgets are not converted: you enter a budget in the ad account's own billing currency, and the number you type is exactly the number the platform receives.

Brand currency (reporting)

Set it under Brand Info → Currency. It defaults to your Shopify store currency. Everything on Stats, Performance, Manage Ads, Reports and the AI Strategist is shown in it. Each day's data is converted at that day's rate, so trends and period comparisons stay accurate.

Supported: USD, CAD, EUR, GBP, CHF, PLN, SEK, NOK, DKK, CZK, HUF, RON, BGN, ISK, TRY. Rates come from the European Central Bank and update daily. They are used for reporting only and are never applied to money you spend.

Budgets use the ad account's currency, not the brand currency

The budget field is labelled with the currency it will publish in, for example "Daily budget (PLN)". Type 50 and Meta or Google receives 50 of that currency. Nothing is converted, so the budget you see in Ads Manager or Google Ads always matches what you typed. Minimum and maximum checks use the same currency.

Brand currency changes what you see. It cannot change what Meta or Google bill in. Both platforms lock an ad account's currency when the account is created and never allow it to be changed afterwards.

When your brand currency and your ad account currency are different

This is common. A European merchant reporting in EUR may have opened a Meta ad account that bills in USD, and an agency-provisioned account can be in a third currency again.

What happens: your dashboard totals are in EUR, and your budget field is in USD. If you type 40, Meta charges $40 per day, not €40. Those are different amounts of money.

So before you set or edit a budget, read the currency in the field label. That is the currency you are committing to. If it doesn't match your brand currency, that is expected rather than a bug.

How to check what currency an ad account bills in

Meta: Ads Manager → Billing & payments. The currency sits with your payment settings and cannot be edited.

Google Ads: Billing → Settings.

Both also appear in the budget field label inside Agency AI, which is the fastest place to look.

If your currency isn't on the supported list

Currencies outside the 15 above don't appear in the Brand Info dropdown yet, so your brand currency stays on its default. Reporting figures still show rather than blocking anything, but they are unconverted, which means the symbol on screen may not match the currency the number is actually in. Read those totals as the source currency.

Budgets are unaffected. They always use the ad account's own currency, so the amount you type is the amount that runs, whatever your reporting shows.

If your currency isn't listed, email hello@agencyai.app and we'll add it to the queue.

Why Meta and Google often differ

Meta bills in a few dozen currencies. If your local currency isn't one of them (Ukraine's hryvnia, for example), Meta puts the account in USD or EUR at creation. Google Ads supports a much longer list, so the same merchant often ends up with a local-currency Google account and a USD Meta account. That's normal. Agency AI reads each account's currency separately and reports both in your brand currency.

Common questions

My budget spent a different amount than I expected. Check the currency in the budget field label. The number you typed was in that currency, not in your brand currency.

My stats changed after I picked a currency. Before multi-currency, every figure showed with a $ sign regardless of source. Numbers now reflect real conversion. Compare periods from the day you set the currency forward.

Can I change my Meta ad account currency? No. You would need a new ad account in the right currency, and a new account starts with no learning history.

Why does the minimum budget guidance say 20 per day with no symbol? Because the minimum applies in your ad account's currency. 20 units of a weaker currency buys far less delivery, so size the budget by what it is worth, not by the number.

The AI Strategist quoted a figure in a currency I didn't expect. It states amounts with their currency. Budgets are in the account currency; performance totals are in your brand currency.
