Understanding Your Free Trial & Billing Cycle
Quick answer
Essentials (the Shopify app): a 30-day free trial starts when you install. Billing starts on day 31 through Shopify, if the app is still installed. MCP plan: a 14-day free trial with a card at signup, first charged by Stripe on day 15.
Cancel before the trial ends on either plan and you're never charged.
Essentials trial
Starts when you install Agency AI from the Shopify App Store and approve the plan on Shopify's pricing page. You get the full app during the trial: campaigns built for you, Create Ad, Manage ads, recommendations, your AI Strategist and the Claude and ChatGPT connector.
There's no separate card for Agency AI. Charges go on your Shopify bill, and nothing is charged until the trial ends, and only if the app is still installed.
If a Meta or Google review blocks you for part of the trial, email hello@agencyai.app and we'll extend it.
To check which plan you're on, open About in the app menu.
Essentials billing
Billing begins when the trial ends, as long as Agency AI is still installed. Charges run through Shopify's app billing and appear on your regular Shopify bill:
- Monthly: $59 every 30 days, counted from the day the trial ended.
- Yearly: $492, billed once a year.
See your charges in Shopify admin > Settings > Billing.
MCP plan trial
Starts when you pick monthly or yearly and enter your card on Stripe's checkout. Stripe charges nothing until day 15. You get the connector and the Analytics Dashboard in your MCP console for the whole trial.
Your Billing page shows the date your trial runs until. The first charge is on that date. Cancel before it from Manage billing and you're not charged.
MCP plan billing
Stripe charges $9 a month or $79 a year, starting the day the trial ends. Switch between monthly and yearly on the Billing page. Manage billing opens Stripe's billing portal, where you update your card or cancel.
If a payment fails, the Billing page tells you. Update your card in the billing portal to keep the connector running.
Founder pricing
Both plans are on founder pricing. Essentials founder pricing ends December 2026; subscribe before then and you keep $59/month. The MCP plan's price stays locked for as long as you stay subscribed.
Cancelling before the trial ends
