What Agency AI Builds for You: Campaigns, Ad Sets and Ads
Quick answer
Agency AI builds you two Meta campaigns: one for new customers and one for remarketing. Each holds an ad set, and each ad set holds several ads that all run at the same time. You do not need to switch them on and off. Meta tests them against each other and moves budget toward whatever performs.
What gets created
| Campaign | Who it reaches | Typical creative |
|---|---|---|
| New customers | People who have not bought from you | A dynamic catalog ad plus several static image ads |
| Remarketing | Recent visitors, cart abandoners, past buyers | Dynamic catalog ads showing products they already viewed |
Campaigns and ad sets Agency AI creates are named with an Agency prefix, for example Agency_adset_new-customers_ followed by the creation date. That prefix is what makes a campaign selectable inside Agency AI. If you want to manage a campaign you built elsewhere in Meta Ads Manager, add "Agency" to its name and it becomes available.
Why several ads run at once
This is how Meta is designed to work. Ads inside one ad set compete, Meta learns which performs best with which people, and delivery shifts accordingly. Rotating ads manually or pausing all but one removes the comparison the algorithm depends on and resets learning each time.
Leave them all running. Read results after seven days, then pause genuine losers and build on the winners. See A/B testing ad copy and creative.
How many ads you get
The number varies by account. It is set from the size of your product library and your daily budget. A large catalogue on a healthy budget supports more creative variations. A small catalogue or a small budget gets fewer, because spreading limited spend across many ads leaves each one short of the data it needs.
If your ad count looks different from another store's, this is why.
How budget is divided
Agency AI sets the split between the two campaigns automatically, based on your brand's target audience, your average product price points and the size of your product library. You set the total, the algorithm allocates it. See Recommended minimum budgets.
Where to add new ads
Put new ads in the new customer ad set. Concentrating creative and data in one ad set is what lets Meta optimize properly. Scattering ads across new ad sets or new campaigns splits your budget across overlapping audiences and slows everything down.
On the Create Ad page choose Create New Ad and select the existing campaign and ad set. Avoid Create New Campaign unless you are running something genuinely separate with its own budget.
The exception for remarketing
We do not recommend adding static banner ads to your remarketing campaign. Dynamic catalog ads belong there, because showing somebody the exact product they already viewed is the entire point of remarketing.
There are two cases where a banner ad in remarketing makes sense:
- Your store has five products or fewer, so a dynamic carousel has little to personalize
- You are spending 50 per day or more on remarketing, enough to support additional creative
Outside those two cases, keep remarketing dynamic. Also keep the total to no more than two remarketing ads live at a time. Beyond that you are showing several ads to the same small audience and competing with yourself.
If a campaign looks missing or blank
Campaign and ad set names sometimes appear empty in the Manage Ads list when a campaign has been paused, or when the campaign list has not refreshed. Click Refresh next to "Missing Campaigns?" on the Create Ad page.
If a campaign you expected is genuinely absent, it may have been paused in Meta Ads Manager rather than in Agency AI. Both views control the same underlying campaigns, so a change made in either place applies to both.
